The purpose of this article is to explain the evolution of the web, starting with the first phase called “Web1” and then the second phase called “Web2”. Finally, there is a brief introduction to what the latest development of the web entails, namely “Web3”.
The Origin of the World Wide Web
To understand the Web, we would have to go back to Web1. For those who don’t know, Web stands for the World Wide Web, which is better known as “the internet”.
Web1 was created by a scientist who sought to make his research more accessible to others. He wanted to provide a platform for sharing his findings in a way that was easy for others to understand and access. As a result of this mission, he was instrumental in the creation of the web as we know it today. This pioneering work has allowed for the sharing of information and knowledge on a global scale, making it easier than ever before for researchers and individuals alike to access and learn from the latest discoveries in their field.

From Web1 to Web2

Since then, the internet connection has evolved, with the introduction of 1G (1980), the first wireless connection, and the current state-of-the-art 5G (2020) connection.
After two decades of the Web2 era, we are now transitioning to the next phase of the web, known as Web3. In the coming week, we will delve into the details of Web3 and discuss the shortcomings of Web2.
